Sure you can bribe your kids with sweets but when they've had too many turn to these little things. A few to throw every so often will definitely keep them walking. Who doesn't like the little satisfying bang.

These are great for walks and car journeys. They are small so fit nicely into pockets and they're easy to use. How many birds will you spot? How many red cars?
Binoculars (4)
My kids love having these hanging round their necks even when they don't even use them I'm sure it gives them a sense of adventure and more reason to keep walking.
Walkie Talkies (5)
Super fun for kids and super annoying for adults. However they do actually come in handy sometimes, make sure you get one for you too and you can call them back when they go too far or send them on errands from a distance. Get them here.
Bumbag or Beltbag (6)
Children's clothing (especially girls) are renowned for having terrible pockets but they pick up about a billion things on a walk. So give them a bumbag. They can pick up things to their hearts content with no slowing down to take their backpack off or ending up with a pockets weighed down with rocks and still have their hands free for the rest of their fun.
(a) This one is well priced and you could get the kids to feed their monster.
(b) Or this one is more stylish and would probably last them longer. I also love that it has different compartments.
